Why do you volunteer for STEAM for All?

I have found my community service with SfA to be particularly meaningful and rewarding because of the emphasis on student leadership. By volunteering for AGMT, I want to provide young girls with the same experience I had, ignite their passion for math, and encourage them to pursue a STEM career.

Why do you volunteer for STEAM for All?

Volunteering at AGMT, I can help close the gender gap in STEAM fields within my community. Also, I can help with to help prevent another girl from feeling out of place in a math setting. Dedicating time and effort into helping foster interests in math, especially in girls, is worthwhile.

Why do you volunteer for STEAM for All?

Throughout elementary and middle school, I attended several STEAM for All events and learned so much. Now, I want younger students that have an interest for STEM-related subjects to have that same opportunity. I believe that by volunteering for STEAM for All, I can impart my knowledge to younger students.

Why do you volunteer for STEAM for All?

Having been able to benefit from the classes and events hosted by organizations within STEAM for All (or Math for Service) when I was younger, I want to give back to the community in the same way. Since joining the AGMT board my sophomore year, I have learned and grown as a communicator, leader, and teacher. The opportunities I was given as a volunteer in AGMT has allowed me to become a more empathetic and committed person. It brings me so much joy to know that what I’m doing will inspire younger girls to pursue their own path in math and beyond.

Why do you volunteer for STEAM for All?

She chooses to volunteer with STEAM for All because she is passionate about the organization’s cause in providing opportunities for young minds in science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Due to the advancements in the understanding of scientific relations and technology and, consequently, the increased reliance on such fields for innovations, the need for exposure of these subjects to today’s youth has become a necessity. STEAM has taken to the challenge of providing students with opportunities that may allow them to cultivate an enthusiasm for the sciences.

Why do you volunteer for STEAM for All?

I recognize the importance of SFA’s mission of spreading STEAM to younger generations, and believe that students should get involved with STEAM’s different factions at an early age. I believe that volunteering at SFA is the best way to achieve this, while contributing to my community at the same time.

Why do you volunteer for STEAM for All?

My previous experiences as a female in mathematics has shown me the importance of female representation in STEAM, motivating me to provide younger generations of girls STEAM related activities, especially in mathematics, that don’t have the pressure of gender. My dream truly is to inspire the mathematician in every girl.
