Three words that describe me are: Hard-working, committed, friendly

How long I have been in Math for Service: 3 years

About me: I have loved math all my life and participated in the All Girls Math Tournament throughout elementary and middle school. Ever since, I have wanted to give back to my community and provide the same opportunity to as many girls as possible. As president of AGMT, I have acquired valuable leadership and communication skills as well as how to be a team player. With first-hand experience of being one of the only girls interested in math, I hope to inspire girls across the country to pursue their passion in math through the annual tournament in addition to classes and activities.

About me: I want to give back to the community and provide experiences similar to the ones I was fortunate to be given, and instill a love for math and science in others. I have learned how to communicate well with others to complete tasks and projects. MfS has taught me what my strengths and weaknesses are, and how I can overcome them. In the upcoming year, I hope to expand the outreach of the All Girls Math Tournament. I think it is vital that girls pursue an interest in STEM, and that AGMT is an organization who can facilitate this effort.

About me: I choose to volunteer for Math for Service because it gives me the opportunity to spread my passion for mathematics to the younger generation through a variety of unique opportunities, such as math tournaments and classes. I have learned how to educate young children through AGMT classes and tournaments. I have also learned how to collaborate with large groups of people. I plan to contribute to MFS by continuing to write creative and original problems for everything related to AGMT. I also plan to finish our new AGMT book by the next tournament.

About me: One of my core beliefs is that everyone has the right to an equal and good education, and spreading such values has been an important reason behind my volunteering at MFS. MFS allows me to help and grow the intellectual community around me, and unlike other organizations, I can see the change we are making right in front of me. I have learned so much from MFS, but mainly I believe I have really grown my organizational skills, and my ability to communicate with others. I hope to bring a passionate and hard working attitude to the MFS community.

Three words that describe me are: Motivated, enthusiastic, patient

How long I have been in Math for Service: 2 years

About me: As I child, I always remember being daunted by the boys who constantly surrounded me. From math tournaments to robotics, I was often the only girl which discouraged me from joining tournaments and classes. All Girls Math tournament has truly shown me the importance of girls education. Through interacting with various groups of girls, I have learned how valuable an all girls learning environment can be. Although there is already a strong communication between All Girls Math Tournament and prospective students and parents, I believe that we must strengthen communications between schools and other programs which target girls educations.

Three words that describe me are: Ambitious, humorous, open-minded

How long I have been in Math for Service: 1 year

About me: From the start, math always spoke to me the most. I loved the feeling of not really knowing what to do, but experimenting and finding a way to get the answer. I chose to volunteer for MfS because it gave me the opportunity to help younger scholars understand and enjoy math like I do. MfS helped me strengthen my communication skills, and taught me to have a lot of patience and determination in what I do. This year, I hope to form deeper connections with young girls and help them discover the beauty of mathematics.
